Viriya – Credit Suisse First Boston Scholarship
This scholarship scheme is aimed at providing financial assistance to well deserving and academically inclined children from disadvantaged families (including low-income and single-parent families) to complete their primary and secondary education. |

Viriya – Shih Ping Scholarship
The scholarship was set up in memory of the late Mr Tseng Shih Ping by his family members on 18th September 2003 to mark his 35th Death Anniversary. It is intended that this scholarship embody Mr Tseng's philosophy, particularly in the aspect of providing the additional means to lighten the burden of those deserving an education; however basic, can still contribute to an equal head start in life. |

Eligibility
- Applicant must be either a student of Whispering Hearts Student Care Centre or an active volunteer of Viriya Community Services
- Applicant must be a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident, aged between 7 to 14
- Family gross monthly income should not exceed S$1800 and per capita income not exceeding S$300
- Applicant's academic performance must be maintained at an average of 75%

Disbursement
(a) Credit Suisse First Boston Scholarship
- S$1000.00 per student disbursed every quarter in advance
- Additional S$200.00 will be disbursed as motivation reward subjected to a marked improvement in conduct and results

(b) Shih Ping Scholarship
- S$800.00 per student disbursed every quarter in advance
While these scholarships will relieve the successful applicant's families from financial stress, it will also help to motivate the student to strive for greater achievements in their pursuit for knowledge. |
