The advent of diverse family structures such as nuclear families, step-families, single-parent families and extended families has resulted in parent-child interactions becoming more complex. As societies evolve, the skills necessary for effective communication and nurturing relationships within a family system surfaces as an acute growing need. These essential skills enable individuals to be valuable contributing members of the family. Whispering Hearts Family Service Centre (WHFSC) tapped on the arising need with the piloting of the Family Life Skills Workshops to prepare parents and children for their respective roles.
