On 9 June, clients of Whispering Hearts Family Service Centre as well as members of the public came together for a fun-filled bowling tournament at Westwood Bowl @ Civil Service Club, Bukit Batok. Response for this event had been overwhelming and interested teams had to fight for the 22 spots in the tournament.
Teams were given a practice game to warm up before the tournament started. Even during this warming up time, the teams were enthusiastic and made good use of the time to perfect their throws. The atmosphere was truly exciting, with team members cheering one another on, giving one another high fives and supporters cheering their teams on.
Teams presented their cheers after the warm up with the judges taking note of the creativity, team spirit and quality of each cheer. The cheers continued throughout the tournament, and there was a final presentation of cheers before the judges made their decision. Altogether, 16 client teams and 6 teams comprising members of the public took part in the tournament. Prizes were given to the top 3 female bowlers, male bowlers, bowling team and cheering teams. The guest-of-honour and prize presenter was Ms. Evelyn Lai, Assistant Manager of Dreams @ Kolam Ayer. Preparations for this event were underway weeks before the event, and it was wonderful seeing the fruits of our labour realised in the success of the event.
