E-Counselling: An Additional Lifeline

Acknowledging electronic communication as a viable avenue of help, and in an effort to raise awareness of the centre and enhance understanding of marital issues and issues faced by dating couples, Whispering Hearts Family Service Centre together with TODAY newspaper, Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports and the National Family Council, embarked on an E-Counselling project from November 2007 to January 2008. 6 articles written by three of the centre’s counsellors, Ms. Veronica Nathan, Mr. Steven Rajan and Ms. Lilo Lim, focusing on marital and relationship issues such as loyalty, intimacy, communication, finances, expectations and trust were published fortnightly in the TODAY newspaper.
